Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. is seeking a candidate to support leaching operations at our Bagdad facility. The role involves field construction, pipe fusion assistance, and familiarity with leach field components.

Ideal applicants have a few months of related experience, basic academic competencies, and a willingness to complete required safety training and exams. A non-standard schedule may apply at a 24/7 operation, with inclusive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Three months experience in Mining/Manufacturing or related fields.
• Complete required competencies and pass written assessment where required.
• Must pass medical exam and training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties related to the leaching process and leach field construction.
• Assist with pipe fusions using a fusing machine.
• Know plant nomenclature including sumps, pumps, and leaching areas.
• Assist with placement of evaporative spray heads and drip systems on leach fields.
• Assist with clay treatment, possibly using a filter press.
• Assist with loading, delivering, and unloading pipe and materials.
• Operate mobile equipment such as skid-steer loaders and forklifts.
• Maintain area housekeeping and assist with maintenance activities.

What You Will Do

• Performs duties related to the leaching process and leach field construction.
• May assist with and perform pipe fusions using fusing machine
• Responsible for having knowledge of plant nomenclature to include sumps, pumps, and leaching areas
• Responsible for having knowledge of various evaporative spray heads and drip systems and may assist with and perform the proper placement of these on leach fields
• May assist with and perform clay treatment which may include using a filter press
• May assist with and perform loading, delivering, and unloading pipe and materials
• May operate mobile equipment such as skid-steer loaders, forklifts, boom trucks, and light duty vehicles
• May assist with maintenance activities
• Perform area housekeeping
• Perform other duties as required

What You Bring To Freeport

• Three (3) months experience in one of the following areas:
  • Mining/Manufacturing
  • Industrial Operations
  • Commercial Construction
  • Commercial Landscaping
  • Commercial Agriculture
• Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently$20.00 - $26.50/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
