GFT Infrastructure seeks a Hydrology and Hydraulics Engineer (H&H Engineer) to join our Hydraulics Team in Fort Worth or Houston, TX. The role follows a hybrid model with regular office presence in Texas.

The engineer will perform calculations, studies, and prepare plans for dam and drainage projects, lead reports, and manage project tasks while coordinating with clients and junior staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
  • 4 to 10 years of relevant H&H project experience.
  • Experience with project proposals and presentations.
  • Expertise with ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, XP SWMM, AutoCAD/MicroStation would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead drainage impact studies, master plans and engineering reports (including CLOMRs & LOMRs).
  • Develop project design concepts, criteria, construction plans, and review documents for quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with clients and other disciplines to prepare designs per scope.
  • Analyze complex design problems and develop new techniques or procedures.
  • Consult with construction personnel on constructability of designs.
  • Provide input for proposals and pursuit of new projects.
  • Supervise junior staff and advise on staffing.
  • Communicate independently with clients.

GFT Infrastructure is seeking a Hydrology and Hydraulics Engineer (H&H Engineer) to join our Hydraulics Team in Fort Worth or Houston, TX. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at one of our offices in Texas.

GFT Geotechnical Dams & Hydraulics Team

What you’ll be challenged to do:

This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated Hydraulics Engineer (H&H Engineer) who thrives in a collaborative team environment. The Hydraulic Project Engineer will perform engineering calculations, technical studies and prepares plans and specifications for a wide variety of projects, including impact analysis, roadway drainage and master drainage plans. Provides general oversight, control, and management of H&H analysis and design tasks for a project. Perform client and project management duties. Prepares technical reports and letters.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Lead the development of drainage impact studies, master plans and engineering reports (including CLOMRS & LOMRS)
  • Lead the development of project design concepts, criteria, construction plans and reviews project documents for conformity and quality assurance
  • Work with client and other disciplines to prepare appropriate designs, as dictated by the scope of work
  • Analyze complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures
  • Consults with construction personnel concerning design constructability
  • Provide input for proposals and pursuit of new projects
  • Supervision of junior level staff
  • Makes recommendations on project staffing
  • Communicates independently with clients
What you will bring to our firm:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • 4 to 10 Years of relevant experience involving H&H Projects
  • Experience with Project proposals and Presentations
  • Expertise with ArcGIS, HEC-RAS (1D/2D), HEC-HMS, XP SWMM (1D/2D), AutoCAD/MicroStation (preferred)
Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $135,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
