Job summary

McKim & Creed, Inc. seeks an entry-level hydrographic survey professional in Wilmington, NC to plan and install equipment, calibrate instruments, and collect data for hydrographic projects. You will review data, ensure quality, and perform final mapping with supporting software tools.

Travel will be required 50–70% of the time, with weekends and holidays as needed. The role requires 0–2 years in hydrographic surveys and training in hydrography, plus a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in hydrographic surveys and processing hydrographic survey data.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED and technical school training in hydrography.
• Must be self-motivated, responsible, and reliable.
• Must be able to make objective and rational decisions.
• Good documentation skills and a strong work ethic.
• Boat experience, trailering, launching, recovery; knowledge of tides and currents.
• Very computer literate; use of specialized software; CAD experience helpful.
• Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record.
• Ability to perform field work, including travel 50–70%, weekends, holidays; ability to lift over 50 lbs.
