Job summary

HDR is seeking a Hydrogeologist to join our Waste sector in Michigan. You will conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, design field studies, and prepare reports as part of a collaborative, employee-owned team.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Environmental Studies, Hydrology, Civil Engineering, or related field, and familiarity with GIS, Total Station, and MS Office. You should be self-motivated and able to work both independently and with a project team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Water Resources or closely related field.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with technical evaluations and conceptual modeling.
  • Demonstrated basic working skills with GIS, Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Total Station experience (GPS and associated software).
  • Strong technical writing skills are also necessary.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task.
  • May require field work in remote areas.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and modeling
  • Help design and conduct field studies and be responsible for data collection, compilation and analysis for a variety of hydrology-related projects
  • Draft technical memos or reports
  • Perform other related duties as necessary
