Job description

Globe 24-7, in partnership with a key client, is working to source an experienced and safety-driven Hydraulic Shovel Operator for mining operations in Arizona.

The Responsibilities

Shovel Operation

  • Operate large hydraulic shovels to load haul trucks with ore, waste, or overburden in an efficient and productive manner.
  • Monitor material quality during loading and communicate any variances to supervisors.
  • Follow dig plans and adjust techniques based on ground conditions and material type.

Safety and Compliance

  • Conduct pre-start inspections and operate equipment in line with site safety protocols.
  • Maintain full awareness of surroundings, especially in congested or high-traffic pit areas.
  • Report equipment faults, safety concerns, or incidents immediately.

Productivity and Equipment Care

  • Optimize digging angles and bucket control to minimize wear and maximize efficiency.
  • Support production targets by reducing idle time and maintaining consistent load cycles.
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment as required.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with dispatch, dozer operators, and haul truck drivers to ensure continuous operation.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and other operators to maintain safe and efficient pit operations.

The Requirements

  • Proven experience operating large hydraulic shovels (e.g., CAT, Komatsu, or Liebherr models) in a mining environment.
  • Strong understanding of dig plans, material types, and pit layouts.
  • Commitment to high safety standards and equipment care.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts in a physically demanding environment.
  • Legal right to work in the United States.
