Job summary

Sedgwick is hiring a Hybrid Workers’ Compensation Claims Examiner in MD to analyze Lost-Time claims, determine benefits due, and adjudicate within service expectations. You will negotiate settlements, communicate with claimants and clients, and report to the excess carrier with professional coordination.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year claims experience, MD jurisdiction knowledge, and a Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year claims management experience.
• MD jurisdiction knowledge is required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze Lost-Time Workers’ Compensation claims to determine benefits due and adjudicate within service expectations.
• Negotiate settlement of claims within designated authority.
• Communicate claim activity with the claimant and client and document updates.
• Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to directions professionally.
