Job summary

Oakland County is seeking a Windows Systems / Security Administrator to manage enterprise infrastructure across on-prem, virtualized, hybrid, and cloud environments. You will prioritize vulnerability management, remediation, patching, and security across Windows, Linux, VMware, and cloud platforms.

The role requires experience with Windows Server, Linux, VMware vSphere, cloud services, and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in Windows/Linux environments.
• Experience with vulnerability management, patching, and security baselines.
• Experience with VMware vSphere and cloud platforms.
• Proficient scripting in PowerShell, Bash, or Python; familiarity with Ansible/Terraform is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer Windows, Linux, VMware, and cloud infrastructure, applying security baselines and hardening.
• Identify, track, and remediate vulnerabilities across servers and cloud resources.
• Coordinate OS and infrastructure patching and ensure compliance.
• Assess configurations against security standards and support audits.
• Secure and maintain hybrid cloud environments and access controls.
• Develop automation scripts to streamline patching and remediation.
• Document configurations and procedures; maintain ITSM records.
