Job summary

The Emmes Group in Rockville, MD is seeking an Associate UI/UX Designer to develop user interfaces and prototypes for client deliverables in a hybrid work setting. You will contribute to design systems, accessibility, and cross-functional collaboration within an agile environment.

The role emphasizes designing modern UI solutions, collaborating to produce mocks and wireframes, and applying UX research techniques to achieve strong user experiences. Strong portfolio required.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of design techniques and principles used to create conceptual prototypes and wireframes.
• Experience with application interaction design, design systems, and frameworks including Bootstrap, Foundation, and USWDS.
• Experience creating project design and accessibility deliverables.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Figma for design work.
• Excellent communication and collaborative working style.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to present concepts to varied audiences.
• Portfolio demonstrating UI/UX design work.

Responsibilities

• Design clean, accessible, and modern UI solutions for client projects.
• Contribute to documentation, including design process and design system guides.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to produce UI mocks and wireframes linked to features.
• Apply UX research techniques as needed to support deliverable outcomes.
• Partner with teams to support accessibility compliance and design system updates.
