Job summary

Wisconsin's Department of Transportation, Division of Transportation System Development seeks a Transportation Specialist Entry or Senior in a hybrid role based in Waukesha, WI. You will help scope and review improvement projects from a planning perspective and support project managers and engineers with technical guidance.

The position requires knowledge of statutes, rules, and standards, plus experience with traffic engineering principles and access management.

Qualifications

• A qualified applicant at the entry level will have an education or experience with engineering principles and methods.
• A qualified applicant at the senior level will have extensive education or experience with engineering principles and methods.
• Reading and math comprehension and technical writing skills are required to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities

• Participate in scoping and review of improvement projects from a planning perspective.
• Provide technical input to project managers and design engineers in development work.
• Review subdivision plats per Trans 233 and assess road access implications for the highway system.
