Job summary

CyberCoders in Cary, NC is seeking a strategic Tax Manager to lead our tax department. This player-coach role oversees complex compliance, drives high-level planning, and mentors a team in a people-first environment.

The ideal candidate has a CPA license, 5+ years of public accounting tax experience, and deep knowledge of US GAAP and multi-state regulations. Base salary ranges from $120K to $150K with bonus, and a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MST preferred.
• Active CPA license required.
• 5+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and final review of complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, non-profits, trusts, estates, and high-net-worth individuals.
• Identify and implement sophisticated tax-saving strategies while ensuring full compliance with evolving legislative requirements.
• Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of tax professionals, providing regular performance feedback and technical guidance.
• Act as a key consultant for internal leadership or external clients on technical tax matters.
• Maintain the firm's tax risk profile by ensuring accurate tax accounting (ASC 740) and timely filings across all jurisdictions.
