The University of Michigan's Office of Development is hiring a Systems Architect to design and implement a scalable IT architecture across multiple platforms. You will lead data modeling, integration of microservices, and real-time analytics while aligning with strategic goals.

This hybrid role requires collaboration with diverse campus partners and adherence to security standards. Reporting to the Executive Director of Development Services, you will guide cloud adoption (AWS/GCP), DevOps

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, CS/engineering or related field.
• 5+ years designing and implementing system architectures; 1+ year as Architect.
• Data modeling, SQL, PostgreSQL/SQL Server/Oracle/Redis/Elasticsearch.
• Cloud platforms (AWS/GCP); Data Lake, Databricks experience preferred.
• Real-time data streaming, containers, and microservices (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Docker).
• Security, enterprise apps, and SDLC with Agile/DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive IT architecture across platforms.
• Develop data models, enable seamless data flows, integrate applications.
• Provide technical leadership on microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture.
• Collaborate with university partners; guide cloud adoption and security standards.
