Job summary

Peraton seeks a Sustainability Engineer Co-op for the County of San Diego contract, from January 2027 to August 2027. You will help measure and reduce environmental impact, support emissions reporting, and build dashboards to track progress toward climate goals.

The role is 40 hours/week with a hybrid arrangement based in San Diego, CA. Ideal candidates are undergrad/grad students in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or related fields, with coursework in GHG accounting and data analysis

Qualifications

• Undergrad or grad student in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Data Science, or related field.
• Coursework in greenhouse gas accounting, climate policy, or sustainability metrics.
• Data analysis skills in Excel or Python

Responsibilities

• Measure and reduce the environmental impact of County technology.
• Support emissions reporting.
• Assess vendor sustainability.
• Analyze the energy footprint of AI workloads.
