Employment Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to support close, reconciliation, and reporting activities in a hybrid role based in Vienna, Virginia.

The position pays $75.00–$95.00 per hour and requires strong GAAP knowledge, journal entries, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance and 5+ years of accounting experience, with advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft Financials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or financial reporting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
• Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as PeopleSoft Financials (preferred).
• Experience with BlackLine or similar close management tools (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities and support period-end close.
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries in support of monthly and quarterly close.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations, including accounts receivable and related accounts.
• Analyze and explain variances between actual results, budgets, and forecasts.
• Support consolidation activities, including elimination entries and ownership accounting.
• Assist with financial statement preparation, recurring reporting, and audit support requests.
• Research accounting implications of business transactions and contractual arrangements.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and support enhancements to accounting workflows.
