Job summary

Digital People is hiring a Writer / Speechwriter to support a well-established medical association in Downtown Chicago. The role focuses on research, interviewing, storytelling, and executive communications.

You will craft long-form content for publications and newsletters, adapt speeches for leadership, and provide light PowerPoint design support while managing multiple projects to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
• Portfolio
• Strong writing, editing, interviewing, and storytelling skills.
• Experience with speechwriting and/or executive communications.
• Good organization and project coordination skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Research, conduct interviews, and write long-form content for publications and newsletters.
• Work with cross-functional teams to develop story ideas, outlines, and final content.
• Write and adapt speeches and presentations for leadership.
• Tailor messaging and storytelling to different executive voices and audiences.
• Provide light PowerPoint design support, creating a foundation that can be polished by graphic designers.
• Manage multiple projects, prioritize deadlines, and maintain strong attention to detail.
