Job summary

Ascend Learning is seeking a Software Engineer Intern for Enterprise Architecture in Leawood, KS. You will develop, test, and maintain internal applications using Ruby on Rails, collaborating with architects and engineers to support a microservices environment.

This internship runs Summer 2026 in a hybrid schedule from our Leawood office. You will participate in agile ceremonies, assist with deployments, and gain hands-on experience with integrations to GitLab, Datadog, and Active Directory

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in a computer related field.
• Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
• Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and ability to translate business scenarios into technical solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Architects and engineers to deliver projects.
• Work with teams across locations.
• Provide technical troubleshooting for production issues.
• Support deployments outside regular hours and participate in on-call rotations.
• Participate in agile ceremonies for each project iteration.
