Job summary

RiceFW Technologies Inc is seeking a SIEM Engineer to support the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's security operations. You will design, configure, and optimize the SIEM, focusing on Splunk Enterprise, data onboarding, and alerting.

You will collaborate with SOC, infra, cloud, and app teams, maintaining documentation and contributing to threat detection efforts. Hybrid onsite 3 days/week in Harrisburg, PA.

Qualifications

• Professional IT experience with at least 3 years supporting SIEM or security monitoring.
• Experience administering or engineering Splunk Enterprise and/or ES.
• Onboarding and integrating security log sources (syslog, APIs, agents, cloud).
• Splunk certification: Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin is preferred.
• Experience developing SPL searches, dashboards, and reports is a plus.
• Familiarity with NIST and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, configure, and optimize the enterprise SIEM platform (Splunk).
• Onboard data sources; ensure proper collection, parsing, and indexing.
• Develop alerts, dashboards, reports, and detection rules.
• Integrate SIEM with security tools, cloud platforms, and apps.
• Monitor performance, capacity, and health; troubleshoot issues.
• Tune alerts to reduce false positives and improve monitoring.
• Support SOC analysts with queries, dashboards, and investigations.
• Assist upgrades, patches, and configuration changes; document procedures.
