Job summary

Barnes & Thornburg LLP seeks a senior-level attorney to lead trust administration, probate, and estate settlement for the Private Client Services Group in Indianapolis.

You will serve as the day-to-day point person for fiduciaries and families, with autonomy to manage matters and opportunities to advise on planning when appropriate. A versatile background including estate planning is valued.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Substantial, senior-level experience (generally 10+ years) in trust and estate administration, probate, and estate settlement.
• Ability to independently manage a high-volume, complex docket at a senior level.
• Strong knowledge of probate procedure, trust law, fiduciary duties, and post-death administration (Indiana preferred).
• Experience advising fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and high-net-worth families; estate planning drafting a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage a full docket of trust administration, probate, and estate settlement matters from intake to closing.
• Guide personal representatives and trustees through all phases of administration, including assets marshaling, valuing, and distributions.
• Handle estate administrations and trust-related court proceedings, including petitions, notices, inventories, and accounts.
