Job summary

US Foods seeks a Sr Produce Buyer to manage inventory, forecast accuracy, and supplier relationships across multiple distribution centers. The role is onsite 2 days a month with work primarily in Lenexa, KS, or neighboring markets.

You will collaborate with logistics, category management, and markets to optimize the supply chain and reduce spoilage while meeting service levels. The ideal candidate has at least 4 years in purchasing, strong analytical skills, and experience in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of purchasing or procurement experience.
• Experience in foodservice purchasing or logistics is preferred.
• Strong vendor relationship management and cost control abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver KPIs for service level, inventory, spoilage, and freight.
• Review forecast, EOQ, lead times, and safety stock to create efficient POs.
• Communicate with cross-functional teams to capture seasonal trends and drive profitability.
• Maintain supplier relationships and ensure PO cost accuracy.
• Collaborate with logistics to optimize freight and inbound receiving.
• Lead forward-buy opportunities to meet profitability goals.
