Job summary

UPMC Health Plan has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Operations Analyst in the Core System Operations department. This full-time hybrid position is based in the Pittsburgh area and oversees administrative and system processes related to the claims transactional system across all Health Plan products.

The role analyzes data to identify opportunities to improve clinical and financial performance, articulates findings to stakeholders, and leads enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum five years general business experience.
• Experience in health care insurance preferred.
• Competence in MS Office including MSExcel MSAccess MSWord.
• Excellent planning, communication, documentation, analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and project management skills with multi-tasking ability.
• QA/Audit/Systems testing experience preferred; Licensure/Certifications: Act 34.

Responsibilities

• Maintain employee/insured confidentiality.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Completes inquiries from data reporting and analysis area.
• Participates in training programs when available.
• Provides support to Operations Analysts.
• Completes Executive Summary management documentation as required.
• Identifies and implements work process improvements to enhance team performance.
• Assists other departments during backlogs.
• Manages special projects; develops and maintains project plans.
• Attends meetings on behalf of Manager/Director.
• Interacts with customers by phone, correspondence or in person to answer inquiries.
• Maintains and updates source data dictionaries relating to processes.
• Models business requirements for new systems and enhancements; tests fixes.
• Participates in team meetings; contributes ideas and promotes client satisfaction.
• Mentors and motivates staff; builds a cohesive team.
• Manages transactional claims systems processes.
