Job summary

Liberty Mutual is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data and Analytics Engineering team in the Frontier and PL Distribution space. You will design and maintain scalable data pipelines, analyze complex data, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into robust data solutions.

The role requires 5-6 years in data engineering, strong SQL and data modeling skills, and experience with Snowflake and AWS in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5-6 years of experience in data engineering or related role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and data modeling.
• Experience with Snowflake, AWS, or similar cloud data platforms.
• Experience in agile, squad-based environment.
• Experience with data integration and ETL/ELT tools such as IDMC.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and software development best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models using cloud tech.
• Analyze complex data sets to design flexible data solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions.
• Build and support ETL/ELT pipelines from internal and external sources.
• Implement data quality checks, validations, and monitoring.
• Develop automated tests for data solutions.
• Perform data profiling and root cause analysis.
• Document data flows and data dictionaries.
• Identify opportunities to improve data engineering processes.
• Contribute to code reviews and engineering best practices.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot.
