Job summary

Newcomb & Boyd, an engineering firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Senior Audio-Visual Systems Designer to lead the design of AV systems and project engineering. The role involves creating construction documents with AutoCAD and Revit, preparing specifications and budgets, and coordinating with in-house disciplines, architects, and owners.

The ideal candidate has 4–10 years in AV consulting/ integration, proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, and a drive to grow into senior engineering and project

Qualifications

• Demonstrates proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Solid technical base with desire to learn, lead, and grow into Senior Engineer and Project Management positions.
• Prioritizes effectively, has good follow-through, and practices self-implemented quality control measures.
• Ability to communicate well in writing, as well as verbally.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience.
• CTS certification (CTS-I or CTS-D or AQAV CQD) preferred
• EIT or PE preferred.
• 4 to 10 years’ experience in the audio-visual consulting or integration business or related industries (corporate, education, or broadcast).
• Theatrical systems or live audio-visual management experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the company with the design of audio, video and control systems.
• Project engineering and design.
• Prepare 2- and 3-dimensional construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Prepare specifications and budgetary estimates.
• Coordinate design efforts working closely with our in-house disciplines, architectural clients, and building owners.
• Perform review of submittals and installed systems.
