Job summary

Medpace is seeking a Security Operations/Analyst role in Cincinnati, OH to monitor, triage, and respond to security alerts across enterprise environments. You will deploy and configure security tools, tune detections, and collaborate with senior engineers on governance, architecture, and compliance projects.

The role requires 2+ years in IT or Information Security, with hands-on experience in SIEM, EDR, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), and AD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 2+ years in IT or Information Security; internships count toward requirement.
• Working knowledge of cybersecurity best practices across an enterprise.
• Hands-on with SIEM, EDR, identity/privileged access management, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), and AD.
• Strong communication and documentation, able to explain technical issues to non‑tech stakeholders.
• Analytical problem‑solving, able to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Basic scripting (PowerShell or Python) or willingness to learn.
• Curiosity and a learning mindset to stay current on threats and practices.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and triage security alerts and incidents using SIEM/EDR; investigate and document findings.
• Deploy and configure security tools in collaboration with seniors and vendors.
• Maintain and improve SIEM detections; tune alerts and support upgrades.
• Assist Information Security Engineers on governance, architecture, and compliance projects.
• Conduct vulnerability scans and coordinate remediation based on risk.
• Audit user access and support least-privilege governance.
• Respond to security inquiries and guide employees on cybersecurity practices.
• Perform periodic security audits and assist with evidence collection.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support incidents outside business hours.
