Job summary
Excelsior University is building a pool of part-time general education science faculty to support its hybrid undergraduate programs in nursing and technology. Courses are delivered asynchronously online with in-person components held at our St.
Petersburg, FL site. Instructors are responsible for the full cycle of online teaching, including video announcements, discussions, assignments, and grading with substantive feedback, while also leading hands-on in-person sessions.
Qualifications
- For biology: a master’s degree in biology or medical science or nursing.
- For chemistry: a master’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering or 18 graduate credit hours in chemistry.
- For physics: a master’s degree in physics or engineering or 18 graduate credit hours in physics.
- College-level teaching experience, especially with adult learners.
- Ability to facilitate asynchronous online learning and in-person sessions.
- Student-centered teaching approach.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate in-person and hybrid sessions aligned with course outcomes.
- Reinforce online learning through demonstrations, discussions, activities, and coaching.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback on performance and support student learning.
- Collaborate with faculty and site staff to integrate online and in-person learning.
