Job summary

EisnerAmper, a leading accounting and advisory firm, seeks a Tax Director for its State & Local Tax team. You will lead multistate consulting and compliance work, mentor staff, and contribute to thought leadership and technology initiatives.

The role blends client service with team leadership and engagement management. The position emphasizes supervisory responsibility, technical tax expertise, and collaboration across in-house professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• CPA, EA, or JD required.
• 10+ years in state taxation.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience.
• Master's degree in Accounting or equivalent (preferred).
• State income tax experience (preferred).
• Experience with tax planning, tax research, and tax analysis (preferred).
• Experience with tiered flow-through entities and investment vehicles (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead multistate consulting and compliance services for state and local tax.
• Review partnership and corporate state tax returns and related allocations.
• Manage residency issues and sales tax consulting.
• Coordinate with in-house tax professionals and clients; supervise staff.
• Prepare investor packages including state K-1s and grids; review pass-through tax.
• Research state tax legislation and advise clients on impact.
• Support tax planning, restructuring, and accounting for income taxes.
