Job summary

Hampshire County Council is seeking a Case Worker for the Adults' Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). You will handle safeguarding referrals via telephone and online, within a supportive team and with cross-agency collaboration including police and health services.

The role emphasizes Making Safeguarding Personal under Care Act duties, with potential to progress via a social work apprenticeship and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Confident telephone communication and the ability to type while talking.
• Strong IT and record-keeping skills.
• Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to compassion, empathy and respectful conduct.
• Awareness of the Care Act 2014, especially Section 42, or willingness to research.

Responsibilities

• Triaging incoming telephone and online safeguarding referrals and escalating when needed.
• Providing signposting to relevant teams or partner agencies.
• Preparing clear, concise reports on cases.
• Meeting performance targets for calls and referrals and the quality of responses.
• Opportunity for social work apprenticeship leading to qualification as a Social Worker.
