Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Denials Specialist in the Medical Bill Audit team to support denial and refund workflows, route accounts, and assist attorneys and vendors. This role emphasizes accuracy, timely processing, and collaboration across departments in a revenue integrity environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and at least three years of medical billing or collections experience, with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Three years of medical billing or collections experience.
• Experience with hospital billing and payer requirements is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Review denial and refund work queues and route accounts accordingly.
• Provide follow-up and support for attorney and vendor referrals, with documentation and tracking.
• Review correspondence on denials, refunds, and appeals and share with the team.
• Maintain timely reporting of legal and vendor referrals.
• Provide administrative support to the Denials Team to ensure continuity.
• Monitor cash flow issues and participate in improvement initiatives.
• Use Excel and PowerPoint to support tracking, reporting, and presentations.
• Communicate professionally with internal departments, vendors, attorneys, and stakeholders.
• Assist with training and onboarding of new team members.
• Perform duties in compliance with policies and Tampa General Healthcare’s mission.
