Job summary

SMBC in the United States is seeking an Associate for the Controllers – Regulatory Reporting Analysis Group to support international, cross-border and systemic risk reporting. You will lead end-to-end preparation and submission of FFIEC and other regulatory reports and work with Finance, Operations, Risk, Data and Technology to resolve issues.

Ideal candidates have a BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or Economics, 3–5 years of regulatory reporting experience, strong U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• 3–5 years of regulatory or financial reporting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and regulatory concepts.
• Experience with FFIEC 019, FFIEC 009, TIC, FR 2420, FR 2004 or FR Y-15 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end preparation and timely submission of assigned regulatory reports (FFIEC 019, FFIEC 009, TIC, FR 2420, FR 2004, FR Y-15).
• Manage data sourcing, report preparation, validation, and post-filing documentation.
• Perform analytical reviews of reported balances and trends; investigate variances.
• Perform reconciliations to the general ledger and supporting schedules; resolve issues.
• Implement new/revised reporting requirements and improve processes with stakeholders.
• Support regulatory examinations, audits, and governance documentation.
