Accounting Search is representing a leading AmLaw 50 firm in New York. We are seeking a Special Counsel to lead the Real Estate Practice Group on sophisticated transactions, including financing, acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures, in a hybrid work setting.
The ideal candidate has a J.D. from a top-tier law school, NY bar admission, 8+ years in real estate transactions, and BigLaw experience. Strong drafting, negotiation, and client-management skills are essential.
Qualifications
- J.D. from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record is required.
- Active Bar admission in New York and in good standing.
- 8+ years of substantive real estate transactional experience, including finance, acquisitions, dispositions, and JV.
- Experience representing borrowers and lenders in complex real estate finance matters (mortgage/mezzanine loans, construction financing, workouts).
Responsibilities
- Lead negotiation and execution of real estate transactions including loan agreements and JV documents.
- Advise institutional investors, developers, REITs, PE firms, and lenders on complex real estate matters.
- Collaborate with tax, corporate, and litigation teams for integrated solutions.
- Provide risk allocation and mitigation advice across transaction lifecycles.
- Mentor associates and support junior team development.
