Job summary

TKDA seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer to lead design and repairs of heavy industrial rail facilities, from maintenance sheds to fueling stations. You will work within an in-house team providing multi-disciplinary support to railroads nationwide.

You will prepare design calculations, plan sets, specifications, and cost estimates, while supervising construction observation and collaborating with engineers at all levels. The role offers hybrid work and strong growth in project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• PE license in at least one state (or ability to obtain within six months).
• 5-12 years of experience designing heavy industrial structural projects.
• Experience with regulatory agencies and permits.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, RISA, and MS Office; drafting and plan set preparation.
• Strong client relationships and effective communication.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% for meetings and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Design new construction and repairs for rail-critical structures.
• Prepare calculations, plan sets, specs, and cost estimates as a technical expert.
• Perform construction observation to ensure designs are realized correctly.
• Collaborate with Graduate and senior engineers, sharing knowledge.
• Grow project management skills and take on more responsibility over time.
