Job summary

The Public Relations Coordinator at the University of Michigan will support and coordinate communications across Public Affairs, University Record, FOIA, and related offices. Qualifications

• Minimum two years of communications experience or interest in communications.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and activities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience handling confidential information with discretion.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Triaging email, inquiries, and correspondence.
• Coordinate and track media requests from local and national media.
• Produce monthly reports for office leadership.
• Research and write briefing documents for Board of Regents meetings and journalist interviews.
• Lead the compilation and distribution of daily news clips.
• Monitor social media and other sources for issues relevant to the university.
• Provide operational support for Public Affairs and University Record activities.
• Schedule meetings, coordinate events, and prepare materials for meetings.
