Job summary

GreenSight Inc. seeks a hands-on Electromechanical Engineer to lead design and validation of hybrid-electric power and propulsion systems across robotics platforms. You will balance trade-offs in battery sizing, mass, payload, and efficiency while delivering motor and drive hardware integration.

You will perform CAD design, FEA simulations and laboratory bring-up, testing, and optimization of powertrains, ensuring robust performance across flying, driving, swimming, and orbiting systems.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering with 3+ years of professional hardware experience.
• Demonstrated experience modeling system-level trade-offs (e.g., energy storage density, battery sizing vs. payload, duty cycles, weight vs. endurance).
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks or equivalent) for physical machine design and component integration.
• Hands-on experience with engineering simulation software (Altair Flux, ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent) for FEA or powertrain system modeling.
• Practical experience assembling, wiring, instrumenting, and troubleshooting motor/drive hardware on a test bench.

Responsibilities

• Hybrid Architecture & Systems Analysis: conduct system-level trade studies to evaluate powertrain topologies, sizing battery capacity, motor power, and engine output against mass, range, and payload limits.
• Electromechanical Machine Design: create 3D CAD models of electric motors, dynamic mechanisms, packaging, and energy generation systems.
• FEA & Simulation: perform electromagnetic, thermal, or structural simulations using FEA software to optimize efficiency maps and sizing.
• Drive & System Bring-Up: wire, tune, and test BLDC/PMSM motor drives and energy management controls on test benches; resolve integration issues.
• Lab Validation & Testing: instrument test rigs using power analyzers, torque sensors, and dynamic loads to validate performance against models.
