Job summary

Ian Martin Group is partnering with a major client to fill a Project Engineer role in Salt Lake City, Utah. This contract position focuses on project execution for natural gas pipeline capital projects, with hybrid work and significant field travel.

The engineer will perform design calculations, develop scopes and cost estimates, coordinate with engineering, operations, and regulators, and help manage multiple project phases from planning through closeout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 2–4 years of engineering/utilities/construction project experience.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and evaluations.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations and analyses to support pipeline design and project execution.
• Review plans for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with standards and requirements.
• Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and material orders.
• Coordinate schedules, permits, and field resources.
• Prepare bid packages and support contractor evaluation and selection processes.
• Track progress, budgets, forecasts, and schedules.
