Job summary

Compass Group USA seeks a Product Owner to maximize value for Financial Data Services products. You will align with product teams, customers, and stakeholders to ensure offerings meet business needs and strategy.

The role collaborates with product owners, data resources, and business owners to harmonize the portfolio with enterprise goals. The position is hybrid in Charlotte with typical in-office Tue-Thu scheduling, adapting to business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or computer sciences, preferred
• 3-5 years of Accounting/Finance experience preferred, preferably in customer-to-cash, procure to pay, or record-to-report value chains
• Experience with enterprise financial data and SAP, specifically FI, SD, MM, IM, EWM, AM, AP, AR, CO or PCA modules; S/4HANA experience a plus
• 3-5 years of experience as a Product Owner
• Strong knowledge and experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
• Proven ability to define and deliver products that meet customer needs and objectives
• Strong analytical and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate technical and process information effectively to business and IT stakeholders
• Experience with ADO and Miro
• Certification as a SAFe Agile Product Owner or SAFe Agile Practitioner is a plus
• Performs analysis and critical thinking required to troubleshoot application-related issues and assist in the resolution

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain deep expertise in the owned data product and business domain
• Understand financial processes, data domains, and downstream use cases supported by the product
• Partner with the Product Manager to contribute to the product vision and strategic roadmap
• Collaborate with the product management layer to understand features for execution and ensure data quality, performance, usability, governance and security
• Develop, scope, and define backlog items that guide the product team
• Create, manage, and validate user stories with the product team to ensure readiness
• Provide leadership and decision-making to deliver business value and user-centric solutions
• Communicate effectively to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Lead agile team to manage and prioritize the team backlog
• Remove impediments for the Agile team and model agile practices
• Keep leadership updated on progress, risks, and impediments
• Serve as liaison between business stakeholders, data engineering, analytics, architecture, vendors, and downstream consumers
• Provide quality guidance on functionality and ensure thorough analysis and deliverables
• Engage with customers to validate data product design and business intent
• Lead continuous improvement and best practice initiatives
• Develop strong relationships to influence stakeholders
• Coach development teams on SAFe principles and practices
• Coordinate with other product teams for end-to-end validation testing
