Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience applying purchasing or materials management principles.
• Exposure to supply chain management, supplier quality systems, and sourcing strategy.
• Understanding of internal and external economic factors that affect the business.
• Product knowledge of the assigned commodities.
• Solid grasp of manufacturing processes, materials management, and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and RFQs: Review requests, verify specs, issue RFQs to suppliers and keep quotes on file.
• Purchasing: Review inventory usage, gather price/spec/delivery information, evaluate bids, negotiate terms, and place purchase orders.
• Delivery and issue resolution: Follow up with vendors to keep shipments on schedule and resolve discrepancies between POs and deliveries.
• Supplier management: Build supplier relationships, set up new suppliers, track costs, on-time delivery, quality and performance.
• Cost savings and contracts: Identify savings opportunities and negotiate supplier contracts while maintaining compliance.
