Job summary

Columbia Sportswear Company is seeking a Principal Strategic Planning Specialist to shape high-impact strategies for growth and go-to-market effectiveness. You will translate consumer insights, market dynamics, and business priorities into strategic recommendations and actionable plans.

Collaborating with the Strategic Planning Director and multiple functions, you will develop structured roadmaps, craft executive narratives, and drive alignment across product, brand, and commercial teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of professional experience in strategic planning, business strategy, brand strategy, or related fields.
• Ability to structure complex business problems, synthesize inputs, and develop clear recommendations.
• Strong analytical capability with experience interpreting consumer, market, competitive, and financial data.
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills; create executive-ready presentations.
• Knowledge of go-to-market processes and cross-functional collaboration to drive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Strategic Planning Director to set priorities and structure initiatives.
• Lead strategic workstreams and develop business cases from insights to actionable plans.
• Develop roadmaps connecting priorities to execution with clear milestones.
• Create executive-ready narratives and presentations to drive alignment and decisions.
• Collaborate with product, brand, and commercial teams to unify perspectives and tradeoffs.
• Apply consumer insights and market trends to challenge assumptions and identify growth opportunities.
