Job summary

Duke Energy in the United States seeks an Engineer II/III to lead transmission planning tasks in accordance with NERC, FERC and regional planning requirements. The role involves developing steady-state analyses, supporting regulatory filings, and coordinating with FRCC and Florida utilities.

The position offers hybrid work with some travel, requiring a BS in Engineering (ABET) and 2+ years (Engineer II) or 4+ years (Engineer III).

Qualifications

  • ABET accredited engineering degree required; MS considered in lieu.
  • Fundamental engineering principles applied to transmission planning.
  • Experience with NERC/FERC standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop steady state analysis of the Duke Energy Florida transmission system.
  • Support compliance with NERC Reliability Standards and maintain documentation.
  • Assist with filings for FERC Orders and provide comments on NOPRs.
  • Support FRCC regulatory and compliance efforts and interfacing with FRCC.
  • Ensure compliance with FPSC Transmission Planning requirements.
  • Participate in inter-utility system working groups.
  • Provide technical support to other Transmission areas and represent the company professionally.
