Job summary

Smart IMS Inc in Richmond, VA is seeking a Power BI Developer for a 12-month contract. This hybrid role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise reporting and analytics solutions using Power BI, DAX, and data modeling.

You will work with Dataverse, SQL Server, Azure Blob Storage, Cosmos DB and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver secure, high-performing dashboards and reports, while ensuring governance and data quality.

Qualifications

• Experience building enterprise reporting with Power BI.
• Proficient in dashboards, semantic models, data visualization.
• Strong modeling, DAX, Power Query skills.
• Experience with Dataverse/SQL Server/Azure storage Cosmos DB.
• Knowledge of security, governance, and performance optimization.
• Experience in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
• Build reports using Dataverse data models, relationships, and security.
• Develop data integrations with Power Query from SQL Server, Azure Blob Storage, Cosmos DB.
• Create and optimize DAX measures and relationships for performance and accuracy.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into visuals.
• Support multiple reporting initiatives and prioritize deliverables.
• Implement row-level security, workspace governance, and dataset management.
• Troubleshoot refresh issues and performance, resolve defects.
• Document data models, metrics, data sources, and dependencies.
• Provide walkthroughs and user training.
