Job summary

AssetMark, a leading financial services firm, seeks a Portfolio Trader to join the Trade Operations team in a hybrid role near Charlotte, NC. The role supports accurate and timely generation, review, and execution of portfolio-level trades in accordance with client mandates and model strategies.

The successful candidate will combine investment operations knowledge with strong attention to detail, process discipline, and a continuous-improvement mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.
• 2–5 years in portfolio trading, investment operations, wealth management, or similar.
• Experience with portfolio management systems and model portfolios.

Responsibilities

• Review trade requirements from drift, model changes, tax-aware trading, and client requests.
• Generate, review, and execute portfolio-level trades per guidelines and procedures.
• Support scheduled and event-driven trading activities and cash management.
• Validate instructions, eligibility, cash needs, and quantities before execution.
• Perform post-trade reviews and reconcile to identify exceptions and issues.
• Investigate exceptions and coordinate with Trade Production, Execution, and Portfolio Management.
• Communicate trade activity and implications clearly to internal teams.
• Maintain records and documentation for decisions and reconciliations.
• Identify process gaps and suggest practical improvements for accuracy and efficiency.
• Use dashboards and metrics to monitor workflow and drive improvements.
• Contribute to SOPs, job aids, and training for consistency across teams.
