Job summary

Washington State Hospital Association seeks a Policy Director, Legal Affairs to lead public policy analysis, advocacy, and implementation affecting hospital operations. You will translate hospital needs into policy measures and guide teams across legislative and regulatory processes.

Qualifications

• Juris doctorate required.
• Preference for Washington State Bar license.
• At least five years in public policy/advocacy within health care.
• Ability to translate hospital needs into policy measures.
• Experience with state and federal regulatory processes.

Responsibilities

• Identify policy opportunities or threats and develop legislative responses.
• Engage WSHA members in public policy and advocacy, including testimony.
• Serve as lead staff on health care issues with the legislature and agencies.
• Coordinate with WSHA lobbyists and partner organizations.
• Present data-driven policy analysis to committees and boards.
