Job summary

UPMC Children’s Hospital is seeking a Director of Pediatric Ultrasound to lead the Section of Pediatric Ultrasound within the Division of Pediatric Radiology. This on-site role involves overseeing ultrasound services across CHP, Magee Women’s Hospital, and affiliated regional sites, with a focus on standardization, quality, and innovation.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent medical degree.
• Board certification in Radiology.
• Fellowship training and/or subspecialty certification (or eligibility) in Pediatric Radiology.
• Appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, commensurate with experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with a strong record of clinical excellence, academic productivity, and teaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary clinical, academic, and operational leadership for the Section of Pediatric Ultrasound within the Division of Pediatric Radiology.
• Lead efforts to standardize practices, enhance quality and patient safety, and improve operational efficiency across the network.
• Advance innovation in pediatric ultrasound, including elastography, contrast-enhanced ultrasound, super-resolution imaging, and AI applications.
• Contribute to the department’s academic mission: provide high-quality clinical care, lead educational initiatives, mentor trainees and junior faculty, and support technologist education.
