Forvis Mazars US Executive Search is seeking an Benefits & Compensation Accounting Manager to oversee accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting for payroll, employee benefits, and labor-related costs. This hybrid role primarily remote with one in-office week per month in Orlando, FL, requiring occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Progressive accounting experience with payroll, benefits, compensation, or labor-related accounting.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, and month-end close.
• Experience reconciling payroll liabilities and employee benefit accounts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile payroll-related general ledger and balance sheet accounts, including payroll taxes and benefit deductions.
• Prepare and record payroll journal entries, accruals, and other compensation-related entries.
• Analyze payroll expenses and labor costs to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Support labor burden accounting, union benefit reconciliations, and certified payroll requirements.
• Reconcile monthly benefit invoices for medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary plans.
• Prepare journal entries and accruals for employee benefits and employer contributions.
• Partner with Human Resources to ensure accurate benefit enrollment and reporting.
• Assist with annual benefit audits and employee benefit plan reporting requirements.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
