Job summary

Brightpoint invites applications for a Part-Time Family Support Specialist serving Tazewell and Woodford Counties. The role coordinates enrollment, eligibility, and service delivery to improve children’s wellbeing within a community-based program, with home visits and team collaboration.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s in Social Work or related field (or Family Specialist Gateway Level 5) and have experience with families with young children.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field and/or Family Specialist Gateway Level 5 Credential required.
• A year of experience working with families with children under age 5 required.
• Case management experience preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Knowledgeable of community resources
• Valid driver’s license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Recruits families with children for enrollment in the program, including evening/weekend recruitment events.
• Validates eligibility and collects essential documentation for enrollment.
• Coordinates placement of eligible children in center or home-based programs.
• Establishes trusting, nurturing relationships with clients/participants.
• Works with multidisciplinary team to extend support services to families.
• Monitors attendance and engages parents to address absenteeism/participation.
• Reports absences for center-based or home-based programs as required.
• Provides support to parents, providers and partners to implement funding requirements.
