iSoftStone, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team in the New York City metro area. This hybrid role involves embedded work with client teams to scope problems, build models, and defend methodologies to business stakeholders who are not data professionals.

The role is client-facing, billable, and multi-account, requiring travel up to 25% and permanent US work authorization. You will mentor junior analysts and contribute reusable accelerators to the retail practice.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of applied data science experience in retail, CPG, or e-commerce problems.
• Strong data modeling fundamentals: dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, slowly changing dimensions.
• Advanced SQL and production-grade Python; familiarity with PyTorch/TensorFlow and forecasting frameworks.
• Experience with time series forecasting or econometric modeling.
• Cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure/AWS/GCP) and CI/CD.
• Ability to translate business questions into tractable modeling problems and present results to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery on retail analytics engagements from discovery to results readout.
• Build and productionize models across retail value chain: demand forecasting, pricing, assortment, and allocation.
• Design data models and semantic layers on client data platforms; collaborate with data engineers.
• Interrogate data quality and business logic before modeling and defend methodology to stakeholders.
• Present findings to director- and VP-level clients, quantifying business impact rather than model metrics.
• Support pre-sales: solution shaping, estimations, and POC design.
