Job summary

EdCast is seeking a Software Engineer with 1–2 years of experience to design, develop, and maintain backend services in C#/.NET Core deployed on AWS. You will write SQL against SQL Server, build cloud-native components, and contribute to front-end work with React or Angular.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 1–2 years of professional software development experience building applications in C# and .NET (.NET Core / .NET 6+ or .NET Framework).
• Demonstrated experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Strong SQL skills with SQL Server: data modeling, joins, stored procedures, indexing, and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience deploying or operating workloads on AWS, with working knowledge of at least three services.
• OO design, SOLID, and common design patterns; know when to apply them.
• Experience with a modern frontend framework such as React or Angular; solid HTML/CSS/JS/TS.
• Experience with Git-based workflows, branching strategies, and PR reviews.
• Experience writing automated unit tests (xUnit, NUnit, MSTest).
• Understanding of secure coding practices and OWASP Top 10 awareness.
• Foundational knowledge of AI / Generative AI / LLMs and practical applications in software development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs in C# / .NET Core, deployed on AWS.
• Write, review, and optimize SQL; diagnose performance issues through execution plans and indexing.
• Build and deploy cloud-native components on AWS (Lambda, ECS/Fargate, API Gateway, S3, RDS).
• Develop frontend features using React or Angular and integrate with backend APIs.
• Own end-to-end delivery of features: design input, implementation, tests, review, and CI/CD deployment.
• Monitor and improve performance, security, and reliability, including production support.
• Investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement durable fixes.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to design reviews and code reviews.
• Develop and integrate AI-powered features using AWS Bedrock and modern LLM frameworks.
• Collaborate with QA, product, operations, IT security, and release management; communicate status and risks.
