Job summary

GK & Associates is seeking an experienced Municipal Plan Checker to support Southern California public agencies by reviewing public works and development plans for compliance with CBC, ADA, CALGreen, and local codes. The role requires interpreting construction drawings, coordinating with authorities, engineers, and applicants, and contributing to permit processing timelines.

A PE license and/or ICC certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of municipal plan checking or civil design experience.
• Strong knowledge of Southern California codes and standards.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• PE license and/or ICC certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans for CBC, ADA, CALGreen, and local codes.
• Prepare clear and professional correction comments.
• Review resubmittals and verify compliance.
• Coordinate with agencies, engineers, architects, and applicants.
