Job summary

Zurich North America in Philadelphia is seeking a Middle Market Underwriter at either the Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter level. You will develop broker relationships and provide end-to-end P&C risk solutions, balancing risk assessment with pricing.

The role emphasizes collaboration across units and with distribution partners in a hybrid workspace, three days in-office per week, with salary ranges disclosed for two levels.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 3+ years in underwriting/market facing.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 6+ years in claims or underwriting support.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 1+ year in underwriting/market facing.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 4+ years in claims or underwriting support.
• Knowledge of lines of business and regulatory guidelines.
• Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with broker partners and customers across all industries.
• Leverage underwriting acumen across risk assessment, exposure evaluation and pricing to generate and maintain a profitable book of new and renewal business.
• Collaborate across claims, finance, risk engineering, actuary, and technical underwriting.
• Grow relationships with preferred distribution partners in assigned territory.
