Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 3+ years of experience or equivalent
  • Ability to translate design requirements into feasible designs under moderate supervision
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD for conceptualization and documentation
  • Familiarity with manufacturing techniques for plastics, machined parts, sheet metal and electronics packaging
  • Knowledge of design controls and GD&T is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical products, subsystems, and/or components
  • Shape the product design through upfront brainstorming and defining functional needs, system requirements, and verification methods
  • Apply creative thought and state-of-the-art technology to solve design problems
  • Collaborate with technicians and perform hands-on lab assembly and testing
  • Work with Project Management to complete tasks within budget and schedule
  • Generate design, development, and support documentation per QS/ISO processes
  • Communicate results and progress to project leadership in written and oral form
