DLA Piper is seeking a Communications Specialist (Public Relations) to promote the firm’s brand through targeted media relations and public relations efforts. The role requires a proactive, results‑oriented professional with a deep understanding of the media landscape and strong relationships with journalists.

This position offers a hybrid work schedule from any US office with expected collaboration across attorneys, Communications, Marketing, and Business Development teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
• 5 years’ experience in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a similar field.
• Proactive, strategic storyteller with media relations experience and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Help create and implement comprehensive media relations strategies aligned with firm goals.
• Collaborate with attorneys and Communications, Marketing and Business Development teams to promote practice areas and achievements.
• Proactively pitch story ideas, releases, and commentary to secure placements with outlets.
• Maintain media relationships and monitor changes in the media landscape.
• Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
