Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS in Washington, DC is seeking a Marine Electronics Engineer with 8+ years of C5I integration experience to support the US Coast Guard and Ship Design Group. The role is hybrid: 3 days on-site, 2 telecommute.

You will design electric and electronic systems, evaluate reports, and ensure compliance with shipboard C5I requirements. DoD IAT II cert and US citizenship required; ability to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 8–10 years in related work experience.
• Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
• Must be a US Citizen for security clearance
• 8+ years developing and integrating systems involving electromagnetic energy transmission for sensing, remote sensing, comms and navigation
• DoD IAT Level II certification
• Experience with shipboard and defense C5I systems
• Knowledge of naval/regulatory ship design rules

Responsibilities

• Design electric and electronic systems, study power generation and distribution, monitoring and control.
• Develop and evaluate technical reports related to C5I systems on USCG ships.
• Review and evaluate the effect of new electronics on system performance.
• Review and adjudicate system design specifications, DFS, RFW, ECs.
