Job summary

Segal McCambridge is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Pittsburgh office and support a dynamic team of attorneys handling complex toxic tort, asbestos, and general liability litigation throughout Pennsylvania, with matters in West Virginia as well.

You'll provide essential support across the litigation lifecycle—from drafting and filing pleadings to coordinating discovery, managing deadlines, and assisting with trial preparation.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience as a legal assistant in civil litigation.
• Knowledge of Pennsylvania state and federal court procedures and electronic filing systems.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with ability to manage competing deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Draft, edit, format, proofread, and finalize pleadings and other litigation documents.
• File and serve documents in PA state and federal courts.
• Maintain attorney calendars, track deadlines, and schedule appearances and deposits.
• Open new matters and manage electronic and physical files; assist with discovery coordination.
• Assist with trial preparation by organizing exhibits and witness materials.
• Communicate professionally with courts, opposing counsel, clients, vendors, and other parties.
